An Appel Inn Wedding in Altamont – Wedding Photographer Albany

 

The day began in the Stockade of Schenectady for Kate and Joe’s wedding. Their ceremony took place in the dramatic and soaring St John’s Church which I work in often as one of the wider-ranging wedding photographer Albany.

 

After a full mass, there were wedding party group photos as well as bride and groom portraits at Union College in the spectacular fall sunshine.

 

Then, it was off to Altamont for their rustic country wedding at the Appel Inn. The beautiful fall sunlight continued, giving us great opportunities for outdoor portraits as well as providing dramatic light sweeping into the octagonal reception space during their first dance.

 

While there was beautiful natural light at the Appel Inn, I finessed it to help create dramatic portraits and the dramatic first dance photos. Knowing how to add supplemental lighting as well as read the existing natural light helps me bring back images for you, such as the first dance photos and the portraits seen here, which retain the feeling and the emotion, but have so much more detail and completeness.

 

Look at the great light on Kate and Joe, but you can also see their faces, the detail in the rustic reception space …
